Click on Andrew Jackson and send $20.00 to Pre-Order Off the Grid now.

Off the Grid has Parts I, II, and III and will be sent to everyone on our Pre-Order List when it is published.  Off the Grid describes what it is like to live without power, water, and gas after the utility companies disconnected service for a senior citizen (your's truly) who is experiencing hardship.

Please send your contribution now.  We need to raise as much money as possible.  Also sponsorships are being accepted.  We will review any products that you send and post product reviews on social media and/or in Off the Grid (this blog) to help educate and inform people about your products.  Here is a list of items we have an urgent and immediate need for:

TAL'S HAUS WISH LIST

1.  Dog food (large bags of kibbles).  We would love to get a truck load of 50 pound bags of dog food and a storage building to put them in from any company that would like to make a donation to Good Shepherd Dog Animal Rescue, Inc. (GSDAR, Inc.)

2.  Shoes: Size 7 or 7 1/2 US men's shoes are needed.  Any walking, jogging, or hiking shoe or boot would be appreciated.  We would especially like to review Nike, Adidas, Converse, Levi, or Keds.

3.  White Gasoline two burner camping type stove.  Or propane two burner stove with propane tanks and adaptor.  Or any outdoor propane grills.  Plus we need white gasoline and/or propane fuel.  Given we are Off the Grid we need a high quality out-door grill to actually cook all our food on, plus the fuel to fire up the grill.

4.  Water.  We need bottled water, either distilled or purified.  Here again we are Off the Grill and in survival mode.  We need a truck load of water and a storage building to put it in.  Consider this just as you might disaster relief.

5.  Solar energy panels.  We need solar energy panels that may generate electricity for TAL's Haus and/or which may charge batteries, digital equipment, and other devices.  Plus we need any accessory equipment that can store electricity from the storeage panels.  If there is a company that would like to donate solar panels and install them at Tal's Haus it would be much appreciated.

6.  RV, trailer, van, pick-up truck, or other vehicle.  We would especially like an Airstream RV and/or trailer with a pickup truck to be donated.  We will provide a complete series of reviews over time to help educate and inform your customers.

7.  Flashlights, LED headlamps, lanterns, and all sizes of batteries.  Since we are Off the Grid we need any light sources plus an endless supply of batteries of all sizes.  We would especially like to receive all types of LED headlamps, flashlights, and other LED devices that may help provide lighting in an emergency situation when the power is out.

8.  Tents, sleeping bags, blankets, sheets, and warm clothing.  With winter just around the corner we need large size coats, jackets, shirts, and shocks.  Especially some wool shocks and shirts would be a God send, as then we can keep warm given the gas company cut off our service and put an ugly looking barrel lock on the meter.

9.  Also we need pants and jeans, size 36-inch waist, 30-inch inseam jeans or pants.  We never can fine pants or jeans with a 30-inch inseam, so whatever anyone with a good heart can muster up would be most appreciated.

10.  Smartphones, laptops, digital cameras, and any other digital equipment.  We will accept new or used digital equipment.  We would especially like Canon or Nike to sponsor us by providing new digital cameras which we may test and review.  Also this will actually help us earn an income and help lift us out of poverty over time.

This list really in an expression of an urgent need as it is very dangerous for a senior citizen to be cut off the grid by the power, gas and water company.  TAL's HAUS is like the inside of a cave at night when all the lights are off.  Have you ever tried to get around inside your house with all the lights turned off.  You can easily slip and fall and injure yourself.  Plus just try going for a few days or a week without water.  You can dehydrate.  Plus without heat one may freeze to death in the winter.  And without air conditioning, you can die of a heat stroke.

So please help.  Consider this list an emergency.  We would especially like to receive emergency aid packages, like you might send to the victims of a hurricane.  By the way, we were victims of both hurricanes Katerina and Sandy.  FEMA would not give us aid as they considered the damage to TAL's HAUS the result of accumulative storms, not just one event.  So guess what, TAL's Haus now needs a new roof!  We were qualified by Habitat for Humanity but have never received any aid from them to date.

Individuals who want to purchase items may put together gift boxes.  We need items like LED light sources, batteries, blankets, sleeping bags, shirts (large size), socks, sheets, blankets, pillow cases, towels.  Plus we would like such items as DAWN liquid blue soap, laundry detergent, or Ivory hand soap.   Large size bars of Ivory soap would be nice, but we will accept any brand name hand soaps. You may send any emergency supplies or home aid products to:

TAL's Haus/Off the Grid

Quitman, MS 39355

We wish to thank everyone who makes a contribution to this Great Good Cause.  God bless you and yours!
